Global Lyme Diagnostics now offers tick-borne coinfection testing to compliment the groundbreaking GLD Lyme screen.
Coinfections can be a significant complication in the effective treatment of Lyme disease. Ticks may carry more than one disease making it possible for humans to get more than one type of infection from a single tick bite.
Other bacteria besides Borrelia are commonly transmitted through tick (and other insect) bites. It is very common for people with Lyme to also have one or more of infections like Bartonella, Babesia and others, from a single tick bite.
To help those Lyme patients that may be suffering from other diseases as well, GLD is proud to announce the ability to accurately test for the following common Lyme coinfections:
- Babesia (microti and duncani)
- Bartonella (henselae and quintana)
- Rickettsia and Spotted Fever Group
